ISASA / Wits University Leadership Development Programme 2025

ISASA is pleased to announce that the Leadership Development Programme (LDP) taught by the Business School at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) will be offered in 2025.

As in previous years, the LDP modules will include:

  • Group Dynamics.
  • Leadership and Diversity Management.
  • Strategic Management.
  • Digital Operations Management.
  • Accounting and Finance.
  • Human Resource Management.
  • Marketing.
  • Fundamentals of Economics.

Upon completion of the modules, four individual coaching sessions, at mutually suitable times for the delegate and coach, will be scheduled at intervals of approximately three weeks apart.

Delegates will be required to complete a composite project by generating a strategic analysis and critical recommendations on their school’s strategy. In addition, they will have to reflect on their role as a leader within their organisation and develop a personal leadership development plan.

This year’s programme can only accommodate a cohort of 30 delegates. Preference will be given to SAHISA (Southern African Heads of Independent Schools) and SABISA (Southern African Bursars of Independent Schools) members, followed by ISDA (Independent Schools Deputy Heads Association) members. Following this order of preference, should there be any slots available, then other school leaders will be admitted onto the programme.

ISASA is again grateful to the ETDP SETA for providing funding for the LDP which has significantly subsidised the cost of the programme. In addition, limited financial assistance is available for delegates from low fee schools.

The course dates are as follows:

  • Week One: Tuesday, 13 May 2025 – Friday, 16 May 2025
  • Week Two: Monday, 19 May 2025 – Friday, 23 May 2025
  • Week Three: Monday, 26 May 2025 – Tuesday, 27 May 2025

Information regarding costs and application procedures has been sent to member schools. For more information, please email witsldp@isasa.org

Please note that the LDP is only open to staff from ISASA member schools.
