The ISASA Legal and Policy Department has prepared a pro forma Child Protection Policy for use by member schools. This document can also be used as the basis for a Safeguarding Policy in schools.
The purpose of this Child Protection Policy is to address the occurrence of sexual abuse and harassment of children in schools, as well as to empower schools with the necessary tools and information required for safeguarding children during such occurrences.
The Policy should be used as a guide to inform relevant stakeholders about the immediate and long-term interventions to identify and investigate sexual abuse and to implement the necessary sanctions to prevent future abuse.
