A major benefit of ISASA membership is the public liability insurance cover, which each ordinary member school receives as part of its member subscription. The ISASA policy is a “second tier” umbrella policy on top of the school’s own initial cover.
It is important that ISASA schools wishing to enjoy this additional umbrella cover have an existing, underlying policy and the ISASA policy will then extend this cover (like an umbrella).
Should schools require further cover they can buy “excess of loss” above the ISASA cover. If schools combine their insurance coverage in this manner the “excess of loss” cover is much more affordable.
As of 1 March 2021 there will be changes to parts of the ISASA public liability insurance cover. These changes are set out in the memo below.
