Building and Protecting Relationships with Parents

A quality education benefits enormously from the establishment of a constructive relationship between parents, learners and educators. Building and protecting those relationships is essential to the long-term success of any school.

ISASA has produced a policy manual outlining the key steps in building and maintaining relationships with parents, including relevant policies, procedures and resolution of grievances.

Member schools are not required to make use of this manual. ISASA offers the pro forma policy for the purpose of illustrating what a school could implement in its own community. Each school should consider its specific circumstances when dealing with the situations covered by this document.
