ISASA Staff Development Fund

Investing in the professional growth of your staff is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen your school’s leadership, teaching practice, and long-term sustainability. The ISASA Staff Development Fund (SDF) exists to support this commitment by providing annual grants and awards to staff members from participating ISASA schools.

Through the SDF, educators and school leaders are able to pursue meaningful professional development opportunities that benefit both their personal growth and the broader independent school sector.

SDF grants and awards may support:

  • International and African visitorships and conference attendance
  • Targeted research on independent education
  • Further postgraduate qualifications at recognized international tertiary institutions

Participation in the SDF is voluntary, with contributions made by ISASA member schools. Importantly, staff from schools that contribute to the fund are eligible to apply for SDF grants and awards, creating valuable opportunities for professional advancement and sector-wide knowledge sharing.

All applications must be submitted in the year prior to the proposed visit or year of research. The Awards Committee meets in September of each year to consider applications for the following year.
