The Psychosocial Work Conditions and Mental Well-being of Independent School Heads

During 2022, the Southern African Heads of Independent Schools Association (SAHISA) requested that research be conducted on the mental health and well-being of independent school heads in Southern Africa. The research results have now been published.

The research was conducted by Dr Jozef Breedt of the University of the Witwatersrand. The survey was sent to all ISASA heads and Dr Breedt received just over 300 responses.

In August this year, Dr Breedt’s article appeared in the SA Journal of Human Resources Management.
