Curro seeks to appoint a YES Programme Candidate: Student Teacher (part-time) at Curro Heuwelkruin in Polokwane to commence duties in January 2027

Key performance areas
- Classroom Support: Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Learner Engagement: Help learners stay focused, encourage participation, and provide one‑on‑one support where needed.
- Assessment Assistance: Support educators with marking, recording results, and monitoring learner progress.
- Extramural & Event Support: Assist with school activities, events, and extracurricular programmes to ensure smooth running and learner involvement.
- Resource Preparation: Help prepare teaching materials, photocopies, and digital resources to support lessons.
- Administrative Support: Assist with basic admin tasks such as filing, updating learner records, and handling communication.
- Professional Growth: Participate in training, mentorship, and development opportunities to build skills for future employment.
- School Ethos & Values: Uphold Curro’s ethos and values through reliability, teamwork, and professional behaviour.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- South African youth between 18 and 34 years old.
- Must be previously unemployed.
- Stipend range: R5 241,00 – R6 000,00 per month.
- Qualification in Education, Early Childhood Development, or related studies (essential).
- SACE registration (provisional or conditional accepted).
- Living close to the Curro school you are applying for.
- Passion for working with children, with patience and commitment to personal and professional growth.
- Strong communication skills to engage with learners, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Energetic, reliable, and responsible, with a positive attitude towards learning and teaching.
- Willingness to assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and extracurricular activities.
- Basic administrative and organisational skills to support educators with records, resources, and learner progress.
