VACANCY: SCHOOL SECRETARY
STARTING DATE: 1 NOVEMBER (NEGOTIABLE)
Somerset House, a 78-year-old school in the heart of Somerset West, is looking for a friendly, organised and capable School Secretary to join our school team and contribute to the smooth and welcoming running of our school office.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A Matric certificate is the minimum requirement. An applicable tertiary qualification will be an advantage.
- A valid First Aid certificate or relevant First Aid qualification.
- Excellent English communication skills, with proficiency in speaking, reading and writing.
- Confident and competent in using technology and standard office systems.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with an understanding of the importance of accurate communication, documentation and record keeping.
- A warm, professional and approachable manner.
- The ability to remain calm, efficient and professional under pressure.
- A genuine interest in working with and supporting children.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be a confident administrator who enjoys working with people and is comfortable in a busy school environment. The role will include reception and general office duties, assisting with school administration, communicating with parents and staff, managing correspondence and records, managing the pupil sick-bay and providing day-to-day support to the school management team.
Experience in a school environment will be an advantage.
