Temp Aftercare Assistant (part-time)

Curro seeks to appoint a Temp Aftercare Assistant (part-time) at Curro Helderwyk in Brakpan to commence duties in August 2026.

Key performance areas:
- Work closely with the phase and class teachers to support the effective running of the phase and grade.
- Help create and maintain a positive, structured and educational classroom atmosphere that supports teaching and learning.
- Assist with planning, preparation and delivery of learning activities under the guidance of the teacher.
- Support the management of learner behaviour in line with school policies and classroom routines.
- Take responsibility for the proper use, care and safekeeping of school equipment, resources and stock assigned to the class and teacher.
- Assist with the organisation, supervision and promotion of sport and cultural activities within the school.
- Support teachers and the school with sport, co-curricular and administrative duties as and when required.
- Provide general classroom and administrative support, including preparation of materials, basic record keeping and communication with learners where appropriate.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to education and willingness to contribute actively to the values, ethos and co-curricular life of the school.
Qualifications, experience and skills:
- Matric and studying toward BEd Foundation Phase
- Minimum 1 years experience working with children
- Passion for working with children
- Energetic, positive approach to their work
- Must be able to assist children with homework
- Willingness to work hard and to grow within the company
- A clear criminal record
