SPORTS COORDINATOR

Sea Point, Cape Town

Full-time permanent post, commencing 01 October 2026 (start date negotiable).

United Herzlia Schools is a highly successful, independent, community Jewish Day School in Cape Town.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who meet the required skills and competencies.

Responsibilities include:

• Organising and coordinating the sports and extracurricular programme including scheduling and coordinating practices and fixtures.
• Management of sports coaches.
• Organisation of sporting events (e.g galas, sports days, tournaments)
• Liaising with parents, pupils and other schools.
• Management of sports equipment and sports facilities
• All sports related administration.
• Collaborating closely with other Herzlia Sports Coordinators
• Coaching or managing one or more sporting codes.
• A limited teaching load (which may include Physical Education)

Key requirements/competencies/skills:

• BEd or PGCE (specialisation in Sport or Physical Education is advantageous).
• SACE registration.
• First Aid qualification.
• Coaching certifications (advantageous).
• Experience working with children at a school or club level.
• Good organisational and administrative skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues and coaches.
• Energetic, self-motivated and able to use initiative.
• Computer literacy.
• Own transport.
