Job Description

• Required: Must be able to teach Physical Education.
• Reporting to the Principal.

Duties required:

• Controlling the Sports and Extramural Programme.
• Controlling Sports and Extramural Events.
• Coaching in various Sporting Disciplines.
• Liaising with parents, students, and visitors to the campus.
• Sports Equipment – budgeting and management.
• Sports Coaches – Management.
• Physical Education Teacher – Grades 4 to 9.
• Organisation of sporting events – Official League Matches and Interhouse and Internal Events.

Competencies/Skills/Requirements:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, students, and parents.
• Energetic, self-motivated, and able to use own initiative.
• Good organisational and administrative skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Must be a team player.
• First Aid Training would be required.
• Willingness to accompany teams to sporting fixtures.
• Willingness to work after school and on weekends.
• Willingness to work long hours.
• Skilled in Coaching and Refereeing/Umpiring.

Qualifications:

• Minimum requirement is a recognised Degree and/or a diploma in Sports Management or a teaching qualification with Physical.
• Education as a subject completed.
• SACE registration.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the same and/or similar type of position and environment.
• Ability to coach sports is essential.
• Experience in the organisation of sporting events.
