With the external promotion of our current incumbent, St David’s Marist Inanda seeks to appoint a dynamic,experienced educational leader in the following position:
SENIOR PHASE DEPUTY HEAD: ACADEMICS
The ideal candidate will:
- have a SACE registration and a Senior/Intermediate teaching qualification. A relevant post graduate degree will be an advantage.
- have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in management, organisation, and administration.
- have knowledge of and support for the Catholic Marist ethos of the school.
- understand and have a passion for boys-only education.
- have extensive knowledge of curriculum for Grades 4-7.
- understand different pedagogical approaches for this age group.
- experience with TSSA and staff professional development will be an advantage.
- exhibit appropriate technology skills.
- be able to manage and inspire a team of highly qualified staff, displaying well-developed interpersonal skills.
- manage and have oversight over subject specialists/HOSs/Grade co-ordinators grade 4-7.
- show diligence towards administrative tasks.
- have excellent time management skills.
- be a self-starter / motivated individual.
- understand pastoral care of boys and behaviour management strategies.
- show knowledge and understanding of modern-day parenting trends and building rapport with the parent body.
- be supportive of the school’s extra-curricular programme and act as a strategic driver in the Senior Phase.
- liaise with the relevant directors and specifically Director: Academic Enrichment and Director: Mini Marist to ensure alignment between phases.
- bring strategic planning to the Senior Phase and collaborate directly with Deputy Head: Foundation Phase regarding academics.
- plan events relevant to the Senior Phase and the school as a whole.
- build the holistic development of boys.
- form part of the Prep School Exec and the greater management team of St David’s Marist Inanda.
