Cedarwood School is an inclusive, remedial Preparatory School (Grade R – Grade 6) and College (Grade 7 – 12) in the congenial country setting of Glenferness – north of Lonehill – for children who have mild to moderate support needs which prevent them from coping adequately in a mainstream school environment. Cedarwood School is equipped to provide a supportive, non-competitive environment where learners can regain lost confidence and work to the best of their abilities and potential.

The following position is available from 1 April 2027

School Business Manager

The successful candidate should:

  • Hold at least a BCom/BCompt qualification or higher and preferably be registered with SAIPA or similar.
  • Be able to manage all non-academic functions at the school, which include (but are not limited to) Finance, Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology Structures, Estate and Grounds, Marketing, and Building projects.
  • Have at least 2 or more years in a similar role.
  • Have in-depth knowledge and experience in drafting and managing budgets, preparing for Audits, payroll management and processing and other financial-related responsibilities.
  • Be able to prepare cash flow statements and analyse variances between budget and actuals.
  • Have experience in working with Xero Accounting, Simple Pay Payroll and Microsoft Office.
  • Possess proven qualities such as empathy, organisational skills, teamwork skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be proactive and enthusiastic.
  • Be able to work under pressure and within deadlines.
  • Possess a clear criminal record, including police clearance and screening against the Sexual Offenders Register.
  • Demonstrate values consistent with the Cedarwood School Core values.
