Professional Development for Teachers

The Educore Foundation, through Educore Academy, invites applications for the January 2027 cohort for the Cambridge Professional Development Qualification (CPDQ) in Teaching & Learning.

Our practice-based training model is designed for graduates in Primary or Secondary Education who are committed to becoming outstanding teachers. Through immersive, mentored classroom experience, participants develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to make a lasting impact in schools (both private and government) across Zambia.

About the Academy:

The Educore Academy is Zambia’s first fully practice-based teacher training academy, established in 2014. The Academy provides immersive, school-based professional development, enabling participants to develop their teaching practice through sustained, mentored classroom experience in a selected school. Participants work toward the Cambridge Professional Development Qualification (CPDQ), first completing the Certificate and then progressing to the Diploma in Teaching and Learning. Programme Information:

  • Gain an internationally recognised Cambridge Professional Development Qualification (Certifi-cate and Diploma).
  • Duration: 12 months (three school terms).
  • Location: Educore schools and selected partner schools across Zambia, with placements matched to participants’ qualifications and programme needs.

Who Should Apply?

Applicants who fall into one of the following pathways:

  • Teaching Interns / Recent Graduates: Early-career educators seeking a host school placement with stipend support and fully funded CPDQ training.
  • In-Service Partner School Teachers: Existing teachers at partner institutions (both private and government) sponsored by their employing school or other funding organisations.

Candidate Requirements & Qualities:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Primary or Secondary Education from a recognised university. A diploma in Music, Art, and P.E. is acceptable.
  • Demonstrate excellent English, Computer Literacy, numeracy and subject proficiency
  • Resilience, reflective practice, adaptability, and a strong passion for student success.
  • Demonstrated skills or interest in sports, music, drama, the arts, or outdoor/extracurricular activities is an added advantage.

About the Schools:

Participants are placed in supportive host schools; these are Educore schools and selected partner schools across Zambia.

Across all schools, there is a strong emphasis on holistic education, including outdoor learning, sports, mu-sic, the arts and social responsibility. Some secondary schools also offer boarding, providing valuable experience in pastoral and residential education.
