About St Andrew’s Preschool
St Andrew’s Preschool is an independent co-educational Preschool with a proud history of providing Early Childhood Education to children from 3 months to 5 years of age. We form part of the 124-year-old St Andrew’s School for Girls. Our values-based education and caring environment are steppingstones to provide opportunities for our children to guide their development of skills and to be empowered members of South Africa and the world. Building a strong culture of diversity is one of our main requirements at St Andrew’s Preschool and we are looking to employ an inspirational educator to join our team.
This position requires the following skills, competencies and attributes:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Relevant Early Childhood Development (ECD) qualification
- A minimum of 1 to 5 years’ experience as an Assistant. Experience in Early Childhood Development or Childcare
- High levels of energy and a passion for nurturing young children
- A high level of professionalism at all times
- A friendly and approachable personality
- Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation
- Have the ability to work collaboratively within a team of teachers, assistant teachers and the Head of the Preschool
- Need to be organised, creative and self-motivated as well as being able to work under pressure and maintaining standards of excellence
- Willingness to participate in general events that take place during the year
- Appreciate working in a values-driven, Christian environment
- Be required to uphold the ethos and traditions of the school
- Be in possession of a relevant First Aid training certificate
- Willingness to apply for clearance with the Child Protection Act and Sexual Offences Register
