Part-time Voice Teacher (fixed-term contract)
to commence duties: Term 4 of 2026
Cannons Creek Independent School supports a vibrant and nurturing Music Department with more than 100 music pupils
currently taking individual music lessons. We are seeking a part-time Voice teacher to join our Music Department team.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Provide individual voice lessons. Piano tuition will be an advantage.
- Prepare students for performances, examinations, Eisteddfods, and competitions as required.
- Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing and promotes engaged learning.
- Behave professionally concerning punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and student homework.
- Evaluate, reflect on, and refine teaching practice.
- Be open to continuously developing one’s teaching through personal and school-wide professional development.
- Respond to e-mails and telephone messages from parents within 24 hours.
- Attend al special occasions at the discretion of the Head of Culture.
- Attend quarterly Department Meetings.
- Fulfil administrative tasks pertinent to practical instrumental lessons as we l as administrative tasks pertinent to being part of a whole department working together.
- Write report comments.
- The successful candidate will be required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the Head of Culture determines.
Required qualifications, competencies and experience:
- A minimum of Grade 8 Voice through an international examination body or equivalent is required.
- Experience in the ABRSM/Trinity Syllabus.
- A minimum of five year’s teaching experience.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
- Be passionate about working with children and have good interpersonal ski ls.
- Proven organisational and administration ski ls.
- A Police Clearance certificate will be required.
- Knowledge of latest teaching trends.
Advantageous:
- Degree in Music, Performers or Teachers Licentiate an advantage.
- Experience in teaching Voice from Grades 4 -12 would be advantageous.
