Part Time Matric English Teacher
January 2027
This is a part -time position and the successful candidate will report to the Head of Department English
Qualifications and requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in English (or equivalent) combined with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), or a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) majoring in English.
- Professional Registration: Valid proof of SACE (South African Council for Educators) registration.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ English teaching experience in the FET phase (Grades 10–12), preferably within an IEB school environment.
- Attributes: Passionate about English language and literature, enthusiastic, organized, and collaborative.
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Instruction & Assessment: Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for Matric level. Set, administer, and mark assessments according to IEB standards.
- Pastoral Care: Serve as an assigned Tutor, supporting student wellbeing and personal development.
- Campus Duties: Participate in general school duties, including morning tea and lunch break supervision, invigilation and provide cover for absent teachers.
- School Engagement: Maintain an enthusiastic teaching approach and actively align with the core values and ethos of Stanford Lake College.
