Treverton aims to appoint an experienced and dynamic individual to the position of
Music Teacher
Starting 1 October 2026.
Treverton is an independent evangelical Christian school, situated on a unique 270-hectare campus in the heart of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. Treverton caters for boys and girls from Grades 000 to 12 and strives to provide a balanced, quality education based on a strong Christian foundation.
The following would be considered essential for the role:
- Diploma or undergraduate degree in music with postgraduate teaching diploma
- SACE registration
- Several years’ experience in a similar role
- To plan, organize, schedule and direct all musical activities offered by the school
- To teach class music
- To coach choirs
- To oversee the student ‘Tech Crew’ in running the theatre sound and lighting
- Liaise with drama teachers for musical requirements for school dramatic productions
- Recruit and manage relevant peripatetic music teachers for various musical instruments
- Organize and arrange school music tours
- Maximize musical participation amongst students
- Be prepared to give up weekends and/or holidays for school music and touring commitments
Remuneration: a package commensurate with the position and relevant qualifications and experience will be negotiated during the recruitment process.
