The Bay Academy offers the South African CAPS curriculum while continuing to support selected learners completing Pearson Edexcel International qualifications. The Position
The successful candidate will teach CAPS Mathematics up to Grade 12 as well as the Pearson Edexcel International AS Level Mathematics programme. The Mathematics Teacher will work closely with the Head of Academics and the wider academic team to maintain high standards of curriculum delivery, assessment, intervention and learner achievement.
Requirements
The successful candidate must:
- Hold a relevant BSc degree in Mathematics and a PGCE or equivalent recognised teaching qualification;
- Be qualified and experienced to teach CAPS Mathematics up to Grade 12;
- Be willing and able to teach Pearson Edexcel International AS Level Mathematics;
- Demonstrate excellent mathematical subject knowledge and a commitment to high academic standards;
- Have a sound understanding of curriculum planning, assessment and academic intervention;
- Demonstrate effective classroom management, communication and organisational skills;
- Be registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE);
- Be proficient in the use of educational technology;
- Be willing to participate fully in the broader life of the school, including learner support, school events and extracurricular activities; and
- Be able to work collaboratively and professionally as part of a growing academic team.
