LIFE ORIENTATION TEACHER
(GRADES 8–12)
Southcity Christian Schools is an independent IEB, co-educational school offering education from Grade 000 to Grade 12. The school is situated in the beautiful village of Ramsgate on the South Coast of KZN.

The successful candidate:

Must be a qualified teacher with a strong background in Life Orientation.

Must be SACE registered and provide a valid police clearance certificate.

Should have experience teaching Life Orientation in the College Phase (Grades 8–12), preferably in an independent school environment.

Must demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, Christian values and holistic pupil development.

Should have a genuine passion for guiding and mentoring young people through their personal, social and emotional development.

Must be able to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.

Must be energetic, self-motivated, compassionate and enthusiastic about inspiring young people.
Responsibilities will include:
- Teaching Life Orientation to Grades 8–12 in accordance with curriculum requirements.
- Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons that encourage personal growth, responsible decision-making and healthy lifestyles.
- Supporting pupils in developing essential life skills, positive values and social responsibility.
- Contributing to the academic, spiritual and co-curricular life of the school.
- Maintaining high standards of discipline and classroom management.
- Engaging in professional development and collaborative planning with colleagues.
- Communicating effectively with parents and pupils regarding academic progress and personal development.
Requirements:

South African citizen.

Bachelor’s degree in Education (or relevant qualification with PGCE).

Minimum 3 years teaching experience, preferably in the College Phase.

Current SACE registration and valid police clearance certificate.

Experience teaching Life Orientation in an independent school environment will be an advantage.

A willingness to participate in the school’s sporting and co-curricular activities.
