Curro seeks to appoint a Librarian (Primary School) (full-time) at Curro Hillcrest in Hillcrest to commence duties in January 2027

Key performance areas
- Organising and managing the library, ensuring effective use by classes, groups, and individuals.
- Creating and implementing a library policy aligned with the school’s educational aims and legal requirements.
- Managing the Library budget, including preparation and reporting.
- Selecting, acquiring, organising, and promoting resources and IT to support teaching and learning.
- Ensuring equality of access for all pupils and staff to high-quality learning resources.
- Supervising pupils using the library for independent study and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Running a homework club in the afternoons as part of the extramural offering.
- Supporting and advising staff and pupils in the selection and use of information resources.
- Promoting reading and the enjoyment of reading in all its forms.
- Mentoring interns through the Internship programme.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- Minimum requirement: BEd or PGCE.
- Advantageous: Previous experience as a Media Specialist.
- Must be fully SACE registered.
- Computer skills and experience working with databases are essential.
- Ability to coach extra-mural activities.
- Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Attributes: proactive, adaptable, supportive, detail-oriented, and committed to promoting literacy and learning.
