JUNIOR PRIMARY INTERNS
PART-TIME, FIXED TERM INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The Junior Primary of Thomas More College proudly hosts Teacher Interns each year to provide them with valuable teaching experience and mentoring as they embark on their careers as educators. We are looking for a self-motivated graduate to join our school from 1 January 2027.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Co-teach in a Junior Primary Classroom (Grade R-3)
- Working under the guidance of a Mentor Teacher
- Assisting with classroom preparation, admin and filing
- Teaching lessons under the supervision of a class teacher
- Providing academic and personal assistance to the children to help them attain their milestones
- Involvement in sporting, cultural and social activities during the school day
- Attending in-house training and development opportunities
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Final year B.Ed / PGCE Student graduating at the end of 2026
- Adherence to the Christian Ethos of the School
- Confident in Foundation Phase curriculum content
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team
- Proficient in English with good verbal and written communication skills
- Able to incorporate technology into the teaching and administrative practice
- Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite
- Flexible and able to solve problems creatively
- Adhere to the school code of conduct
- Patient with young children
- Eager to learn, grow and gain teaching experience
