Drakensberg Boys Choir School (DBCS) is an independent boarding school for learners in Grades 4-9 that develops young learners of exemplary character, helping them harness the gift of music to bring hope, impact, and positive change in South Africa and beyond. The school gives musically talented scholars an opportunity to excel through music as the anchor of a balanced and diverse schooling experience. The DBCS learners are fully representative of South Africa’s demographic.
DBCS is seeking a young, dynamic and suitably qualified teacher to join their team:
ISIZULU FAL (GRADE 4 – 9) AND SPORT ORGANISER or BOARDING MASTER
Minimum requirements:
- Recognised Teaching Qualification and SACE registration.
- Proven experience teaching isiZulu to learners in Grades 7 to 9.
- Ability to teach in a multicultural environment.
- Fluent in English.
- Competence and willingness to be part of an extensive extramural programme.
- Competence and willingness to:
- Manage the Sport and Extramural programme of the school OR
- Supervise young boys within the daily routine of boarding life, including mealtimes and other duties as per the boarding house daily routine.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching isiZulu, Grade 4 to Grade 9, at First Additional Language level, and
- Teaching isiZulu at Home Language level should the need arise.
- A passion for teaching isiZulu FAL.
- Coaching various sporting codes, including basketball, soccer and rugby.
- Assisting the head of boarding to carry out his/her responsibilities, and supervision of young boys within the daily routine of hostel life, including mealtimes OR Managing the Sport and Extramural programme of the school.
Housing is available on the premises.
