Intermediate / Senior Phase Teacher Maths and Afrikaans

Reports To: Head of Primary
Location: Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
Contract Type: Permanent/Full-Time
Start Date: January 2027

Job Purpose:

  • Grade 6 and 7 Afrikaans and Maths teacher

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Education (IP/SP) or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of teaching experience in the Intersen/ Senior Phase teaching these subjects is required.
  • Extremely capable sports coach – able to coach a variety of sports

Skills and Competencies:

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge and skill regarding the teaching of Afrikaans as a First Additional Language, as well as solid mathematical skills and the ability to teach this curriculum with skill and success.
  3. Ability to think on your feet.
  4. Passionate about sport.
  5. Analytical and organizational skills for effective planning and problem-solving.
  6. Compassionate and student-focused with an ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and staff.
  7. Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching.
