Founded in 1896 and set in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, Michaelhouse is a leading Anglican Independent senior Boarding School for boys from Grade 8 to Grade 12.
The Michaelhouse Accounting Department’s vision is twofold: Firstly, to provide all our boys with a curiosity and skill which they can use for the rest of their lives in personal finance, entrepreneurial ventures, and their work. Secondly, to equip grade 10 – 12 boys with the necessary knowledge and skill base to thrive in their undergraduate and postgraduate studies and to make effective decisions in their future workplaces.
We seek an innovative, creative, dynamic professional with a thorough knowledge of, and passion for the teaching and learning of Accounting to join our team. This post will require an energetic individual with drive and determination to begin in January 2027.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION ARE:
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), preferably with an Accounting major.
- A professional teaching qualification
- SACE membership.
- Proven successful teaching experience in EMS and Accounting to Grades 8 – 12 in the IEB curriculum would be advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Previous leadership experience preferable.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Leading and driving the Accounting Department, its teachers, students, and curriculum.
- Teaching a range of EMS and Accounting classes.
- Involvement in a variety of co-curricular and pastoral duties in the school.
