HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA TEACHER
Ideal Candidate Will:
- Bring an innovative, creative and progressive approach to teaching Drama/Dramatic Arts in the GET (Grades 8–9) and FET (Grades 10–12) phases.
- Be appropriately qualified with the necessary Degree and professional qualifications and must be SACE registered.
- Have a passion for Drama and the ability to inspire learners to develop their confidence, creativity, communication and performance skills.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) assessment procedures and requirements for Dramatic Arts.
- Have the vision to identify and take advantage of opportunities to develop an innovative and engaging Drama curriculum.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in Drama, performing arts, education and technology, incorporating these into teaching and learning where appropriate.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater for different learning abilities and encourage active participation.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of educators, including teachers across different phases and subjects, to develop innovative curriculum and co-curricular strategies.
- Be willing to contribute to the College’s Drama and performing arts productions, cultural activities and co-curricular programme.
- Have strong organisational, administrative and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Be willing to engage in continuous professional development and mentoring where necessary.
- Understand and commit to the Marist ethos and mission of Sacred Heart College, contributing to the holistic development of learners.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all learners.
