Curro seeks to appoint a Head of Department: IT and Robotics (full-time) at Curro Hillcrest in Hillcrest to commence duties in January 2027

Key performance areas
- Provide vision and leadership for the IT department while teaching Robotics
- Establish a nurturing teaching environment that promotes engaged learning
- Complete collaborative planning, portfolio moderation, and maintain accurate records
- Construct timely, informative reports to learners and parents on progress
- Run weekly departmental meetings and cascade information from Subject Head meetings
- Teach extra lessons when required and participate in the High School extramural programme
- Attend all special occasions and school events as directed by Heads
- Ensure thorough understanding and application of assessment standards
- Demonstrate professional conduct in punctuality, behaviour, and work standards
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks as determined by the Head of School
Qualifications, experience and skills
- Minimum 3 years IEB experience
- Having matric marking experience will be an advantage.
- Be able to teach Java and SQL.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Build a caring and supportive environment in which all learners will thrive.
- Teach extra lessons, when required.
- Be fully involved in the High School’s extramural programme.
- SACE registered
- Appropriately qualified IT and Robotics teacher
- Strong interpersonal skills and team leadership ability
- Energetic, creative, self-motivated, and innovative teaching approach
- Thorough understanding of assessment standards
- Commitment to Curro Hillcrest\’s ethos and values
- Clear criminal record
