About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, caring Grade 1 teacher to cover a maternity leave. Grade 1 is where the foundations of reading, writing and number are laid, and you will deliver systematic, explicit phonics instruction as the bedrock of early reading, build early numeracy through concrete, hands-on experiences, and cultivate a deep love of books. We’re looking for a teacher who combines warmth with high expectations, and who can step into an established class and keep every child growing.

Our ideal teacher is a strong collaborator who does not prefer to work in isolation, has a genuine affection for young people, is willing to take responsibility for the academic, social and emotional success of students, is a firm believer in the potential of every child, and has a proven track record of student success.
- Tertiary teaching qualification with specialisation in the Foundation Phase
- SACE registered
- A strong grounding in early literacy and systematic phonics instruction
- Proven experience teaching Grade 1 or the Foundation Phase is essential
- Experience in an IEB school will be advantageous
