Founding Head – Forres Secondary School

Forres is launching its Secondary School, and we are looking for a Founding Head to shape it from day one.
This is a rare chance to lead a new school built on the strong foundation, values and reputation already established at Forres Preparatory School – and to grow it into a school of its own.
We are not looking for someone to manage an established institution. We are looking for someone inspired to build one while rethinking and reimagining the way that schooling is done.
We are looking for an educational leader with vision, energy and the courage to challenge convention. Someone who understands that building a successful secondary school requires more than academic leadership – it requires culture, community, relationships, marketing, recruitment and a clear sense of identity.
The successful candidate will:
- Be suitably qualified to teach either English or Mathematics at secondary- school level.
- Bring proven management or leadership experience.
- Be entrepreneurial – genuinely energised by marketing and growing a new school.
- Want to grow with the school, not simply run it.
- Be ready to build culture, standards and community from the ground up.
- Be able to do things the best way, not the way they have always been done.
Minimum requirements:
- Recognised BEd and/or PGCE; postgraduate qualification in Education advantageous.
- Current SACE registration.
- At least five years’ senior leadership or management experience in a school setting.
- Strong financial and administrative acumen.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-relationship skills.
