St Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls in Pretoria is inviting applications for the following position available:
Financial Administrator
St Mary’s DSG, an independent, all-girls Anglican School, aims to create a pathway empowering confident young women of integrity and character to explore their potential and positively contribute to our nation and the world. The School invites suitably experienced candidates who meet the criteria to apply for the role of Financial Administrator within our Finance Department.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a financial administration role.
- Experience working within a school environment will be advantageous.
- Experience with accounting and financial management systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Ed-admin and accounting software will be advantageous.
Competencies and Skills:
- Strong financial administration and organisational skills.
- Experience in invoice processing, data capturing and document management.
- Ability to perform banking, petty cash administration and financial record maintenance accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
- Strong administrative and filing skills with the ability to maintain confidential records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional and courteous interaction with parents, staff, students, suppliers and visitors.
- High levels of integrity, confidentiality and accountability.
- Willingness to support, promote and work within the Anglican ethos of the School.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture and process financial transactions and invoices.
- Administer purchase orders and supporting documentation.
- Perform banking and petty cash administration.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Assist with finance correspondence and departmental administration.
- Support the Finance Manager with audit preparation and financial reporting requirements.
- Ensure effective document management and record retention.
- Provide reception and administrative support to the Finance Department.
- Assist with data capturing, reconciliations and general finance administration.
- Support the efficient day-to-day operation of the Finance Department.
