The following opportunity is available at Wembley College: High School Teacher for English and Dramatic Arts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach Cambridge English Language in the High School phase as a junior teacher (Grade 8 and Grade 9).
  • Teach Cambridge Dramatic Arts and contribute to the continued development of the subject.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that inspire a love for English and Dramatic Arts.
  • Assess, record, and report on scholar progress in accordance with school and Cambridge requirements.
  • Create opportunities for scholars to develop confidence in public speaking, performance, critical thinking, and creative expression.
  • Contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme, including productions, speech and drama activities, and other cultural events where appropriate.
  • Maintain a positive and disciplined learning environment that promotes academic excellence and scholar wellbeing.
  • Participate fully in the broader life of the school, including pastoral care, staff meetings, parent communication, and school events.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • An appropriate teaching qualification or relevant degree.
  • SACE registration or eligibility for registration.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience teaching English at High School level.
  • Experience teaching Dramatic Arts will be advantageous.
