BUSINESS STUDIES TEACHER – SENIOR SCHOOL
Business Studies Grades 10–12 | Accounting Grades 9–10
Commencement Date: January 2027
Redhill School is seeking an exceptionally positive, enthusiastic and experienced Business Studies teacher to join our Senior School from January 2027.
The primary focus of this position is the teaching of Business Studies in Grades 10–12. However, the successful candidate must also be able, qualified and genuinely willing to teach Accounting in Grades 9 and 10, as required.
We are looking for far more than subject knowledge. We want an educator who brings energy, optimism and enthusiasm into the classroom; someone who enjoys working with young people, builds strong relationships with students and colleagues, and is excited about contributing to a dynamic and forward-thinking school.
THE ROLE
The successful candidate will:
- Teach Business Studies in Grades 10–12, including preparing students for the IEB National Senior Certificate examinations.
- Teach Accounting in Grades 9 and 10, as required.
- Deliver engaging, relevant and academically rigorous lessons that connect Business Studies to the rapidly changing world of business, entrepreneurship and the economy.
- Inspire students to think critically, creatively and independently.
- Set, mark and moderate assessments and examinations in accordance with departmental and school requirements.
- Monitor student progress and provide appropriate academic support, intervention and extension.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department to develop curriculum, resources and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
- Contribute positively and enthusiastically to the wider academic and co-curricular life of Redhill School.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Applicants must:
- Hold an appropriate degree and recognised teaching qualification.
- Be SACE registered.
- Have a minimum of five years’ teaching experience.
- Have demonstrated experience teaching Business Studies at Senior School level, preferably through to Grade 12.
- Be able and willing to teach Accounting in Grades 9 and 10 at a minimum.
- Have a strong understanding of contemporary business and be able to make the subject relevant to the world in which our students will live and work.
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner with high academic expectations.
- Be confident in assessment, examination setting and marking.
- Be comfortable using technology as an integral part of teaching and learning.
- Be collaborative, adaptable and committed to continued professional growth.
- Bring exceptional positivity, energy and enthusiasm to their work and to the school community.
