BOYS SENIOR PREP DANCE TEACHER (Privately Funded)

An opportunity exists for an exceptional Dance Teacher (Privately Funded) to join the school from 01 January 2027.
Role Overview:
The Dance Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging dance lessons that develop learners’ confidence, creativity, communication, collaboration and performance skills. The role will also be responsible for preparing learners for performances and productions, supporting co-curricular dance activities and fostering a positive, inclusive environment that encourages self-expression and teamwork. Lastly, the dance teacher will be responsible for ensuring learner well-being, independence and inclusion within the St Peter’s Boys Prep. The Dance Teacher will be expected to work only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Duties (not an exhaustive list):
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging dance lessons appropriate to the age and ability of learners;
- Create and teach age-appropriate choreography for individual and group performances;
- Prepare learners for school concerts, productions, assemblies, festivals, competitions and other events;
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful and well-managed learning environment;
- Communicate relevant information to parents, colleagues and school leadership;
- Responsible for billing, invoicing parents directly and report writing;
- Promotion of the St Peter’s Prep Schools attributes and values.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A relevant qualification;
- SACE Registration;
- A minimum of 3 years’ dance teaching experience;
- Basic knowledge of basic styles of dance.

- The flexibility, ability and willingness to work outside school hours, when necessary;
