GIRLS’ COLLEGE

Athletics Coach
The College invites applications for the above-mentioned position which will be available from 7 September 2026. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills, passion and competencies to take on this leadership position.
Requirements:
- Proven performance of coaching and mentoring student athletes; including experience in the pastoral space
- Relevant sport-related qualifications
- Clearance from the National Register for Sex Offenders (NRSO) confirming no record of sexual offences against children and mentally impaired people or a valid police clearance certificate
- Ability to manage practices and work nights and/or weekends
- Conflict management skills
- Proven ability to work with diverse teams and/or a commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Understands and adheres to the by-laws, policies, procedures, regulations, and rules of St Stithians College
Responsibilities:
- The coaching of students during team practices (planning and executing of practice sessions)
- The attendance and coaching of students at home and away fixtures (including all relevant tournaments and/or festivals)
- Complete attendance registers and capture relevant data at all practices
- Write termly sport comments for each student and submit them timeously to the relevant TIC
- Committed to the development of each player and help students develop in the sport, and teach good sportsmanship
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop effective working relationships with athletes, coaching staff, parents and staff that support athletics.
- The attendance and coaching of students at athletics meets, in Gauteng.
- Work collaboratively with other coaches and the greater athletics community
- Represent the Girls’ College at relevant events with honour and pride
