ARTS AND CULTURE TEACHER PREPARATORY SCHOOL POST – Grade 1 – 6
to commence full time duties at Bellavista School on 01 January 2027
Bellavista School is an independent preparatory school in Johannesburg for children with learning potential who are experiencing specific or generalised learning difficulties that prevent them from achieving success in a mainstream school environment. We aim to encapsulate every child’s strengths and promote these, whilst developing coping strategies to overcome areas of weakness. To work at Bellavista School, a staff member must have a desire to engage in intense and ongoing professional development, personal resilience, a sincere belief in the potential of every child and a strong collaborative style.
The ideal candidate will:
- demonstrate proficiency and experience in teaching and assessing within the subject areas: Visual and Performing Arts. Additional experience or interest in Technology, Coding and Robotics is an advantage.
- hold a 4 year qualification in education or an academic qualification and a PGCE;
- show evidence of experience and interest in inclusive/ remedial education;
- provide proof of 5+ year school based teaching experience including some time participating in inquiry based learning;
- demonstrate competence in speaking, reading and writing English;
- have technical competencies and an ability to integrate multimedia into teaching and learning;
- ideally, be competent in the Google environment;
- be characterised with positive interpersonal skills, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility and accountability;
- speak easily about his or her commitment to inclusive educational practice;
- demonstrate self-initiated problem solving abilities;
- present with excellent communications skills;
- value reflective practice.
