Karen Smith coordinates membership activities for ISASA. This involves logistics for the various ISASA, SAHISA and SABISA conferences, as well as travel and accommodation for the council and executive meetings.

Karen also manages the SAHISA membership application process and the SAHISA member database, and provides general support to the SAHISA executive.

Karen holds a National Diploma in Tourism from the Pretoria Technikon and a National Diploma in Human Resource Management from the University of South Africa (UNISA) which was awarded with honours.
