In July 2026 ISASA Executive Director, Lebogang Montjane, was interviewed by both SAfm and Radio Islam regarding the City of Johannesburg’s ongoing attempts to recategorise all independent schools as “business and commercial” in terms of property rates. For many schools, this could mean a tenfold increase in rates.
