TECHNOLOGY TEACHER

Grade 8 and 9

St Peter’s College is an independent Anglican Diocesan school for boys and girls from Grade 8 to Grade 12. The school was founded in 1998 to meet the demand for a co-educational high school in northern Sandton. St Peter’s College offers an integrated and relevant South African high school education.

The aim of the College is to ensure that individual potential is achieved through exposure to a wide range of excellent academic, spiritual, sporting, creative, cultural, and community activities. Our goal is to create and maintain an environment where trust and respect for the individual prevail, where diversity and inclusion are valued, and where individual responsibility is fostered within the context of teamwork.

The College is currently seeking to appoint a Technology Teacher to start on 1 January 2027 (Negotiable)

Duties (not an exhaustive list):

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver Technology lessons, in line with the IEB curriculum
  • Develop students’ technical, design, practical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills through theory and practical application.
  • Design and facilitate practical projects and activities that promote innovation, creativity and real-world application of Technology
  • Assess, monitor and provide constructive feedback on student progress, including theoretical, practical and project-based assessments.
  • Provide subject leadership within the Technology Department and contribute to curriculum planning, development and the sharing of best practice
  • Promote the effective use of digital technology, design tools and emerging technologies within teaching and learning.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use, care and maintenance of Technology equipment, tools, materials and learning spaces.
  • Participating in departmental meetings, parent consultations, school events, professional development activities, and other school-related responsibilities.
  • Upholding school policies, professional standards, and safeguarding responsibilities while contributing positively to the school’s culture, values, and academic objectives.

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Post Matric Tertiary qualification
  • Minimum five years’ experience teaching Technology (Grades 8 and 9)
  • Experience teaching Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD) is advantageous
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Registered with SACE
