Hatfield Christian School is a Co-Educational Independent School from Grade 00-12, situated in the East of Pretoria. As we are a Christian discipleship school, we place a large emphasis on the spiritual input into children’s lives.
We invite applications for the position of HOD: Life Orientation in the High School with effect from January 2027. It would be an advantage for applicants to be able to teach an additional subject to LO in the High school. Applicants should have the necessary qualifications and experience and be SACE registered. A suitable candidate should be prepared to engage fully with the co-curricular programme of the school. In addition to teaching in the High School, the successful applicant will be required to perform other duties.
The applicant should: –
- Be a mature Christian with a strong testimony.
- Understand, and fully support, the ethos and vision of the school.
- Be an experienced educator, with a minimum of 5 years of experience teaching Life Orientation, with a strong preference for candidates who have taught and marked at a Grade 12 IEB level.
- Have excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Prior experience in a management position is preferable.
- Have well-developed people skills & experience in mentoring others.
- Have a track record of positive collaboration within a team.
- Be enthusiastic and able to promote innovation within the subject.
- Be equipped to monitor subject planning and assessment at all grade levels in the high school (Gr 7 – 12).
