Pre-Primary Teacher

We are looking for an energetic, warm and innovative Pre-Primary Teacher to join our School in the Woods team.
The successful candidate will be a qualified Foundation Phase educator who understands that young children learn deeply when they are given opportunities to play, inquire, question, create, explore and think for themselves.
We are looking for an educator who brings both heart and intention to the classroom: someone who understands child development, notices the individual child, creates environments in which curiosity can flourish, and is excited by the possibilities of contemporary early-years education.
The Role
Working closely with students, teachers, parents, therapists, facilitators and school leadership, the Learning Support Coordinator will develop and coordinate an inclusive, coherent approach to supporting students with additional learning needs.
This requires someone who can move comfortably between the individual child and the wider system: providing direct support where needed, equipping teachers with practical strategies, helping parents navigate sometimes complex learning journeys, coordinating multidisciplinary support and ensuring that recommendations translate into meaningful everyday practice.

The person we are looking for will:
- have a recognised Bachelor of Education (Foundation Phase) degree or equivalent qualification;
- have a genuine passion for working with young children and a sound understanding of early childhood development;
- embrace play-based, inquiry-driven and child-centred learning;
- encourage curiosity, questioning, exploration and discovery rather than simply providing answers;
- create nurturing, stimulating and developmentally appropriate learning environments;
- design meaningful learning experiences that develop creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving from the early years;
- bring imagination, energy and innovation to teaching and learning;
- be confident using technology and thoughtful about when and how it adds genuine value to young children’s learning;
- see themselves as a learner too, reflecting on their practice, remaining curious and continually developing their craft;
- be adaptable and proactive, with the confidence to question established ways of doing things when there may be a better way;
- value collaboration and contribute generously to a strong, connected team;
- communicate warmly and professionally with colleagues and families;
- be committed to nurturing confident, capable and curious students who experience themselves as active participants in their own learning.
