Physical Education Teaching Position.

Starting 01 January 2027

St Teresa’s School is a leading independent Catholic girls’ school in Rosebank. In our environment, we strive to encourage the young ladies in our care to learn, grow and thrive. Every year, at the end of Grade 12, we say farewell to young women who have grown to be strong, kind, and confident in our care. A critical part of this growth is promoting academic excellence. We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile teacher to join our sports department.

This is a full-time permanent position.

The successful candidate must:

  • Have a minimum qualification of a BEd/PGCE or equivalent from a recognised institution
  • Have proof of registration with SACE.
  • Have the requisite Police Clearance.
  • Have at least three years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Be able to coach and organise sports (swimming, athletics, tennis, cross-country, hockey, netball and soccer) offered by the Senior Primary School and at times the High School.
  • Be able to swim and have sufficient experience to coach swimming.
  • Be knowledgeable of current trends and education policies in Physical Education and sports development.
  • Have experience in coordinating the Sports Programme and Interhouse Sporting Events at the School.
  • Have experience in organising sport events and fixtures.
  • Be able to work as part of a team of enthusiastic educators and develop a purposeful curriculum.t
  • Be willing to develop Grade-specific programmes to enhance the pupils’ personal growth and leadership skills in the Senior Primary in particular.
  • Be committed and willing to work outside of normal school hours.
  • Have at least a Level 1 First Aid certificate.

The ideal candidate should be organised, enthusiastic and suited to teaching in a girls’ Catholic school with the ability to identify and contribute to the values and ethos of the school.
