Mathematics Teacher
Full-time Position
Hout Bay, Cape Town
Commencement date: 1 January 2027
The Bay Academy invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced teachers for the position of Mathematics Teacher, commencing on 1 January 2027.
The Position:
The successful candidate will teach the NSC CAPS Mathematics curriculum from Grade 8 to Grade 12 and work closely with the Head of Academics and the wider academic team to maintain high standards of curriculum delivery, assessment, intervention and learner achievement.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must:
- Hold a relevant B.Ed. or BSc degree (Mathematics) with a PGCE (FET Mathematics) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification;
- Be qualified and experienced to teach CAPS Mathematics up to Grade 12;
- Demonstrate excellent mathematical subject knowledge and a commitment to high academic standards;
- Have a sound understanding of curriculum planning, assessment and academic intervention;
- Demonstrate effective classroom management, communication and organisational skills;
- Be registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE);
- Be proficient in the use of educational technology;
- Be willing to participate fully in the broader life of the school, including learner support, school events and extracurricular activities; and
- Be able to work collaboratively and professionally as part of a growing academic team.
