Broadacres Academy is an independent ISASA school in the greater Fourways area of Johannesburg, running from Preschool through to a National Senior Certificate written under the IEB. Our High School occupies a contemporary campus in Chartwell, three kilometres from the Preschool and Preparatory campuses, with light-filled classrooms opening onto Communal Learning Areas, indoors and out.
THE POST
You will teach Natural Sciences in the Senior Phase, Grades 7 to 9, and Life Sciences in the FET Phase, Grades 10 to 12, taking students through to the IEB National Senior Certificate. The post carries a full teaching load across both phases, with responsibility for planning, practical work, assessment and moderation in line with IEB requirements.

Learning is treated here as a journey of exploration and a collaboration between student and teacher — led by curiosity, guided by professional judgement, and paced to the natural development of each child. The curriculum, the buildings and the grounds are all designed around that idea.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- A relevant degree with a recognised teaching qualification
- SACE registration
- Experience teaching Life Sciences to FET level; IEB experience preferable
- Confident practical and laboratory teaching, including the assessment of investigations
- A willingness to contribute to our co-curricular programme
