We are seeking a reliable, hardworking and responsible Housekeeping Assistant to join our dedicated housekeeping team. This is an important role in ensuring that our school campus remains clean, hygienic, safe and welcoming for our boys, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that the school provides a clean, well maintained, safe and welcoming environment for our boys, staff and visitors. The role encompasses the daily care and upkeep of classrooms, offices, boardrooms, ablution facilities and shared spaces, with a strong focus on pride, attention to detail and consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The position is available for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Cleaning and maintaining school facilities to a consistently high standard.
- Ensuring that classrooms, offices, ablution facilities and shared spaces are clean, hygienic and well presented.
- Operating cleaning equipment and machinery safely and responsibly.
- Using cleaning products and equipment in accordance with prescribed procedures.
- Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to health and safety requirements.
- Reporting any maintenance, safety or cleaning-related concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Working collaboratively as part of the housekeeping team while also being able to work independently when required.
Requirements and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role. Experience in a school or similar institutional environment will be an advantage.
- A minimum of two years’ proven experience operating an auto-scrubber floor machine – this is an essential requirement.
- A strong work ethic and pride in maintaining clean, orderly and well-presented spaces.
- The ability to follow instructions accurately and work both independently and as part of a team.
- An understanding of basic health and safety practices, or a willingness to learn.
- A willingness to be trained in the safe and appropriate use of cleaning equipment, products and specialist machinery where required.
- A commitment to maintaining consistently high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and care within a school environment.
- Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to working in a school environment.
