Dainfern College seeks to appoint an exceptional and experienced Netball professional to lead and grow our High School Netball programme on a full-time basis from January 2027.
EXTERNAL HEAD OF NETBALL (FULL-TIME)

This exciting opportunity is suited to a passionate and visionary Netball professional who will provide strategic leadership to the High School Netball programme while driving player development, coaching excellence, and the long-term growth of Netball at Dainfern College. The successful candidate will be instrumental in establishing a high-performance culture and contributing to the development of a future Netball Academy.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and oversee the High School Netball programme.
- Serve as Head Coach of the 1st Netball Team and provide technical and tactical leadership.
- Develop and implement a clear vision, philosophy, and long-term strategy for Netball at the College.
- Establish structured player development pathways from U14 through to 1st Team level.
- Recruit, mentor, support, and develop coaches across the programme.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee fixtures, festivals, tournaments and training programmes.
- Identify and develop talented players while promoting participation across all age groups.
- Implement modern coaching methodologies and performance standards throughout the programme.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performance sporting culture aligned with the values of the College.
- Build and strengthen relationships with students, parents, staff, and external sporting organisations.
- Contribute to the strategic development of a year-round Netball Academy and other initiatives that enhance the profile of Netball at Dainfern College.
- Attend College sporting events, meetings, tours, camps, and other activities associated with the role.
- Perform any other duties reasonably associated with the position as required by the College.
Requirements
- Relevant coaching qualification in Netball.
- A recognised World Netball, South African, or equivalent coaching accreditation will be advantageous.
- Proven experience coaching Netball at a high-performance school, provincial, franchise, or elite club level.
- Demonstrated experience coaching senior teams, preferably at 1st Team level.
- Experience in player identification and long-term athlete development.
- Experience mentoring and developing coaches.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Sound administrative and planning abilities.
- A commitment to holistic student development and the values and ethos of Dainfern College.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, school holidays, tours, festivals, and tournaments as operationally required.
- A valid driver’s licence will be advantageous.
