St Dunstan’s College is an independent English-medium school in Rynfield, Benoni, founded in 1918. From its humble beginnings as an Anglican Parish Preparatory School, St Dunstan’s has grown into a leading independent institution that includes the original Preparatory School, a Pre-School and a College.
The College seeks to recruit a suitable applicant for the following position:
CROSS-CAMPUS HEAD OF CREATIVE ARTS
Commencement date – May 2027 (or earlier by arrangement)
The successful candidate must:
- be a committed, dynamic, innovative and motivated educator;
- have relevant academic and professional qualifications;
- have proven experience in leadership and programme management;
- have a good command of English and, excellent organisational and communication skills;
- be willing to participate fully in the life of the school and in extra-curricular activities (many of these may be after school hours);
- demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian ethos of the school.
The successful candidate will:
- manage the Creative Arts across the whole school, including the Pre-School, Preparatory and College;
- provide strategic leadership for Music, Drama, Dance, Public Speaking, Debating and others relevant to the strategy;
- report to the Deputies of Co-Curricular and will serve on the Senior Management team;
- be responsible for the appointment, induction and management of peripatetic staff and coaches;
- initiate and drive participation in eisteddfods, festivals, tours, outings and other performance opportunities;
- support, mentor and appraise permanent staff within the department;
- undertake a manageable teaching load and support teaching within the Creative Arts subject areas;
- manage departmental budgets and resources effectively;
- review Colours Awards policies and manage recommendations for these awards;
- work collaboratively with school leadership to further enhance the profile of the Arts at St Dunstan’s College;
- have the ability to successfully manage a stage performance for students of all ages.
