BUSINESS MANAGER
Grayston Preparatory School is an independent English-medium, co-educational preparatory school in Sandown, Sandton. The Board of Governors wishes to appoint a dynamic, qualified, and experienced person as Business Manager from 1 January 2027.
This is a senior management position, reporting directly to the Chair of the Board. The Business Manager will be responsible for the School’s non-academic operations and the implementation of its strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- The management of all financial, business and non-academic operations of the School.
- All financial reporting, budgeting and future financial planning for the School.
- The management and control of all infrastructure planning, maintenance and approved campus development.
- The management of all outsourced suppliers
- The management of all administrative, marketing, admissions and HR matters.
- The management of all risk assessments and Occupational Health and Safety compliance.
- The management of all Employment Equity and legislative requirements.
- The implementation of the School’s strategic plan and the monitoring thereof.
Key requirements:
- Be a qualified accountant, preferably a Chartered Accountant.
- Experience in school business management advantageous.
- Excellent knowledge of financial, accounting and project management principles.
- The ability to run payroll software would be advantageous.
- Experience in an ISASA school would be an advantage.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Be self-motivated and highly organised with strong communication skills.
- Be able to work under pressure with close attention to detail.
- Work well with all stakeholders in a school environment.
- Be a dynamic leader with strong interpersonal skills.
- Be willing to participate fully in the life of the school and be involved in all programmes and projects.
