Roedean Senior School, an independent girls’ school seeks to employ a person with experience in teaching music in the Junior and Senior Phase. Must be prepared to be fully involved in the school’s co-curricular cultural programme, specifically contemporary vocal training.
Competence in piano and classical voice training will be an advantage.
The successful candidate will:
have a B.Mus. or higher Music degree, Voice as 1st instrument and be registered with SACE;
be competent to teach contemporary voice from GET to FET, including voice as a subject music requirement; classical voice training will be an advantage;
be capable of developing creative new material;
be able to coach the vocal ensembles and prepare them for performances;
have sound computer skills and be able to use music software;
be able to work effectively as part of a team and to share responsibilities pertaining to music matters;
be prepared to support the ethos of the school;
have strong verbal and communication skills;
have excellent administration skills; and
be passionate about facilitating the development of a passion for music in students.
