Organizational Description:

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (The Academy) is a residential boarding school with just over 300 students enrolled in Grades 8 -12. Grade 12 students write the Independent Examination Board (I.E.B.) NSC Examination.

Minimum academic requirements and experience:

  • Relevant degree and a professional teaching qualification.
  • Proof of registration with SACE.
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Curriculum planning.
  • Teaching up to Grade 12.
  • A passion for inquiry-based, student-centered learning.
  • Working knowledge of the latest educational trends.
  • Willingness to learn how to use and to implement the Neurosequential Model of Education in your teaching.
  • The following will serve as an added advantage:
  • IEB teaching, marking and/or moderation.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as an individual and in teams.

  • Willingness to assist Visual Arts students after school hours.
