VISITING PIANO TEACHER

St John’s College is a world-class Christian, African school situated on a magnificent campus in Houghton, Johannesburg, offering quality education from Pre-Primary to Post-Matric.  The school has an outstanding academic record, entering candidates for the examinations of the IEB and the Cambridge A Levels.

We are looking for an accomplished piano teacher to join our music department as a visiting teacher.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • hold a Teacher’s Licentiate
  • have experience in teaching beginners to advanced pupils
  • have a good track record of entering pupils for External Music Exams
  • have good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
  • assist with ensemble work
  • be willing to apply for clearance with the Child Protection Act and Sexual Offences Register

Previous working experience within a school environment would be advantageous.

Members of staff are expected to support the Christian ethos of the school.
